Your Domain Name
So you
have already registered your domain name with us. In order
to show your website to the world, you need a web host, and
web content. So how do you go about doing this.....?

1: Choose a company to host your website.
Step
2: Get the NameServer information from your host.
Step
3: Pass that information to us.
Step
4: Design your website

5: Put your web files on your hosts server.

Activating
your domain name can be frustrating for many people. We have
partners who will take care of this for you. Sign up for the
webhosting services of our partners,

Step
1: Choose a company host for your website
The host
is the company which stores your website files on the internet.
You can choose a host from our list of partners,
or you can find one yourself. Most ISPs (Internet Service
Providers) are able to offer you hosting services as well
as more specialised web hosting companies.SARNic does not
provide hosting or design services.
You can
register your domain name before you choose your host if you
want, but you will need to sign up with a host before you
can activate your account.
Step
2: Get the NameServer information from your host.
We need
important information from your host to activate your account.
The
information we need is:-

Step
3: Pass that information to us.
We will
soon be introducing a system where you can change your NameServer
information yourself. Until that system goes live, you will
need to email us at help@sarnic.hk.com
with the NS info. The email must include the following information:-
1) your
new NameServer info ( see Step 2)
2) the
.hk.com domain name to be activated and
3) the
email address of the administrative contact of your domain
name
Step
4: Design your website.
You need
website files to publish. If you are familiar with making
html files, then you can make them yourself. Alternatively
you can get in touch with one of our partners
who provide webhosting services.
Step
5: Put your web files on your host server.
Last but
not least, you need to put your website files onto your hosts
server. Your host will give you full details on how to complete
this.
